Statement

My imagination is imbued with practicality and hope.  I look to daily life, my surroundings, and memories to perceive beauty and imagine possibilities.  My appreciation for subtlety is attributed to having grown up on the vast great plains of southwestern Kansas.  To find beauty there is not easy -one has to seek it out.  Only after leaving did I realize how my eye had been trained to find lasting aesthetic pleasure in things seemingly commonplace.  I find beauty in geometric forms, both natural and human-made and in character-giving imperfections.  I want my work to reveal the quiet power of unlikely scenes and objects.
